TEDxHuntsville 2009

You are invited to the first TEDxHuntsville!

TED is an annual event that brings together the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline. “TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design — three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future. The talks at the conference, called “TEDTalks”, are then made free at TED.com.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxHuntsville, where x=independently organized TED event. At our first TEDxHuntsville event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.

The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

 

New Perspectives

The premier TEDxHuntsville will be held on November 8, 2009 at the offices of Cre8ive Partners. Through TEDxHuntsville’s 2009 theme “New Perspectives” we hope to:

1. Bring the essence of the TED experience to Huntsville.
2. Share "ideas worth spreading" with.
3. Inspire and challenge attendees to put ideas into action.
4. Provide a meaningful event experience that will allow us to produce a larger, more far-reaching event in 2010 and beyond.

All attendees are encouraged to stay and engage in conversation about the selected TEDTalks that will be viewed.
